Unveiling Christina Lauren: The Dynamic Duo Behind the Pen Name
What most people don’t know is the fact that Christina Lauren is not one author. Sure, you’ll find quite a few Christina Lauren books, but the pen name is actually used by two writing partners and best friends, Christina Hobbs and Lauren Billings, who together have authored 18 New York Times bestselling novels in both YA and women's fiction genres.
Lauren Billings, also known as Lo, holds a doctorate in neuroscience from UC Irvine and has previously conducted research on neurodegeneration in aging. She lives in California with her family and two dogs. Christina Hobbs, affectionately called PQ by Lo, previously worked in a junior high counseling office and now spends her time writing or watching BTS videos. She resides in Utah with her husband and daughter, and is passionate about boy bands and glitter.
The duo has had their books translated into over 30 languages. With these thoughts in mind, let me introduce you to some of my favorite releases.
I have arranged the following Christina Lauren books in reverse chronological order for your convenience.
What Are The Top Christina Lauren Books?
The True Love Experiment (2023)
To be honest with you, I strongly believe this book will be made into a movie at some point, it’s that good. As one of my favorite Christina Lauren books, it tells Fizzy’s story. She feels a bit lost. She’s a successful romance writer, but she has never experienced what she’s preaching for.
Sure, she’s felt lust and passion before, but she had never experienced those butterflies, those feelings of always thinking about him. And then, her constant optimism slowly turns into pessimism, as she realizes she has no clue what love feels like.
But then, she meets Connor, a filmmaker, and single father. He's asked to create a reality TV show based on love, but he has no clue where to start. When the two meet, they realize this could be the perfect scenario.
There’s only one problem. He’s pretty good at making her fall for him, but his feelings are not going in the right direction. From this point on, I’ll let you discover the outcome yourself.
Something Wilder (2023)
Lily’s childhood hasn’t been great. Her father Duke, a famous treasure hunter, hasn't been around too much. She's grown up without much patience and, despite her father's job, without too much money too. But she's not stupid, though.
Using her father’s hand-drawn maps, she decides to start a local tourism business, guiding tourists around less known areas. Moreover, on a side note, she also guides amateur treasure hunters through the canyons in Utah.
She has a dream though, buying her father’s ranch, the one he got rid of years ago. However, while her jobs do help with the bills, there’s not enough left to fulfill her dreams. When her childhood love Leo turns up, she’s all about business, despite his attempts to get her to fall in love with him.
And that’s when the action begins.
The Soulmate Equation (2021)
This is one of my favorite Christina Lauren books and follows single mom Jess and the fine line between fate and decision. She plays it safe, loves numbers, and takes no risks. Therefore, she's not really interested in getting back on the dating scene. After all, her family wasn't great, so she’s not too confident.
But then, she finds out about GeneticAlly, similar to some reality TV shows these days. Basically, the company grabs DNA from more people to find the perfect match. This makes sense, and after all, there are no risks at all, so she’s up for the challenge.
Surprisingly for everyone, she's matching the GeneticAlly founder by 98%. She already knows Doctor River, and she finds it difficult to believe. He's far from what she would expect from her soulmate. However, GeneticAlly comes with an offer she just can’t refuse.
Whether it's money or true love, I'll let you find out yourself what happens in this spicy story. And trust me, if you think you know how it ends, I recommend reading it first, and you'll be surprised.

This is the last Christmas she’ll spend at the cabin in Utah where her family has always spent holidays. Driving away in tears, she asks the universe for a change. What’s going to make her happy? What’s going to show her what happiness looks like? And then, she gets a sign.
She’s involved in an accident and passes out without remembering anything. When she wakes up, she’s on an airplane, going on holiday to the beloved cabin. It’s a time loop that keeps repeating again and again. There’s definitely something she’s doing wrong, but she has to figure out what.
She’ll have to find happiness one way or another in order to break free. Will she manage to do it?

Get ready for a cheeky adventure full of quirky fun and a bit of romance.
Twice in a Blue Moon (2019)
Sam and Tate discover love on vacation abroad. However, this isn't just a summer love. It's not one of those new relationships where they discover themselves. Instead, it's one of those where they share everything, their goals in life, passions, literally everything.
Time flies, though and they take different paths in life. Tate is a movie star's daughter and follows the same road. However, no one can tell what the future has in store for them. And 14 years later, while she still thinks about her first love, she finds him.
He’s there, just as confident. He’s looking at her, but she can’t forget the past. He betrayed her. Now, she’s asking herself whether she’s about to make the same mistake again. Or maybe he’s changed, who knows? After all, he’s a grown man now.
I won't give you too many spoilers, but you'll love the outcome. Besides, you'll recognize Christina Lauren’s remarkable signature straight away.
The Unhoneymooners (2019)
Olive has never been a lucky girl. Her career? Terrible. Her love life? Inexistent. Pretty much nothing works for her. But then, she has a twin sister, Amy. And Ami is the opposite, she feels like the luckiest person in the world.
Besides, she’s managed to get the perfect wedding by winning a series of competitions online.
Things get a bit messy when Ami asks Olive to spend the day with Ethan, the best man. However, Olive and Ethan are sworn enemies, so that’s when the nightmare begins. Olive thinks she’ll survive. After all, 24 hours won’t be that bad.
Her bad luck just won't let go, though. Everyone at the wedding gets food poisoning, apart from Olive and Ethan. And now there’s a honeymoon up for grabs, but no one can really go.
The two decide to put their hatred aside in order to enjoy this beautiful vacation in Hawaii. A bunch of small mistakes and issues lead to a plethora of misunderstandings. Now, Olive and Ethan must pretend they're in a relationship in order to save appearances.
Love and Other Words (2018)
Macy is extremely ambitious and tries to plan every little aspect of her life. She works like a slave in order to build a career in medicine, but she also wants to marry an older and more responsible man, ideally a financially secure one.
She has experienced love before, but nothing really lasts. Now, she runs into Elliot, the first love of her life and probably the only man she's truly cared about. Her heart takes over, and her well detailed plan starts falling apart.
The problem is he’s already broken her heart in the past, so she doesn’t want to make the same mistake again.
The best part about this book? The action floats between then and now. You’ll be surprised by some of their reactions, but then you’ll understand why they do this and that. Small references to the past will fill the gaps and give you a better image, definitely one of the best Christina Lauren books.
