Rachel Werdier is assigned to search the Empty Zone when several ominous events occur along the borders of the City of Gate. There she encounters a young man with no memory of his past, with whom she gets lost in a mysterious and legendary realm. Rachel somehow manages to return to the City, yet finds herself in the midst of betrayal and destruction.
