Weight loss, where do I start with the topic of the century? We are bombarded with all sorts of wonder foods, miraculous diets that promise to keep us fit and shed those pounds.

We’ve seen diets recommended by doctors, as well as celebrities, but deep down inside us, we all know that a healthy diet and regular exercise will always be the classic combo to stay fit and look good.

However, a healthy diet is a general umbrella that covers more diets. My sister swears by the Low-FODMAP diet, and I'll be honest with you, it works for her. But I find it challenging. My point is there are quite a few good options out there, and I believe we need to experiment to figure out what truly works for us.

What Is Grape Diet?

That brings us to the grape diet. It's not a world renowned diet, and there are quite a few variants for it. But then, it's grapes, right? Healthy, natural, rich in nutrients, and tasty too.

The original grape diet is a short period diet usually spanning some days to one week, where the primary focus is on consuming only grapes and water. This detox diet is rooted in the concept that grapes possess natural cleansing properties, making them ideal for purifying the body. Advocates of this diet believe that it not only detoxifies the body but also contributes to overall health improvement and aids in weight loss.

Grapes, being rich in vitamins, antioxidants, and fiber, are thought to assist in flushing out toxins from the body, thereby promoting a healthier digestive system and potentially supporting weight management goals. However, it's important to note that this diet may not provide all the necessary nutrients required for long-term health.

This is why books about the grape diet were brought into existence. I collected some of the most notable books connected to grapeataryin or grape diets.

What Are Some Insightful Grape Diet Books?

Grapeataryin Flex Diet, by W. Shamond (2023)

This short book revolves around grapes. No magic pills, no chemicals, but sweet fruits. You can't go wrong with that, after all, who doesn't like grapes? They're sweet, great for snacks, and they come in all kinds of varieties, suitable for all preferences.

Anyway, this grapeataryin flex diet is written by Shamond who has tried everything before, so that’s good, at least he understands what we’ve been through.

The book offers a few different approaches, which makes sense because different people have different needs and goals. It’s split into multiple chapters and offers a deep insight into multiple personal objectives, from losing weight to adopting a healthy diet.

What I really love about this book is the motivational writing style. It’s not a one-size-fit all solution, but it helps us identify areas that need some improvement in our lives.

It's one of the easiest diets to try out, in my opinion. First of all, it's based on a healthy, yet sweet and tasty fruit, so you'll love it. Second, it's flexible. Third, it's not meant to be a long term diet. Instead, it's supposed to be implemented over a day or two before taking a break and repeating.

Personally, I’ve lost weeks and months of my life with all kinds of wonder diets, I think anyone can afford to lose a couple of days to give this one a try. Trust me, you won’t regret it.

The Grape Cure, by Johanna Brandt (2019)

I’ve done quite a bit of research on the magic powers of grapes, and it looks like I'm not the only one. To be perfectly honest with you, I find this book to be less effective than my previous recommendation, yet it's a classic.

The grape therapy may not be as famous as other therapies recommended by celebrities, but it's there, and it works. Believe it or not, this therapy book has been around for nearly 100 years.

Johanna Brandt’s journey has been very well documented since she was diagnosed with cancer. With time, she figured out that grapes have incredible properties with their high amounts of nutrients and antioxidants, causing the body to regenerate and purify itself.

Needless to say, her cancer became history. This is probably the most authentic case of a natural cure for cancer. However, it's crucial to understand that this diet is not a guaranteed cure for all types of cancer, and individual responses to such treatments can vary significantly. Don't forget to consult with your healthcare professionals before starting any new diet, especially when dealing with serious health conditions like cancer.

The book offers a different approach. It’s not necessarily about weight loss, yet weight loss becomes a positive consequence when the body is healed and purified.

If you've ever tried fasting, good, there's some of it, too. And the rest of the diet is entirely based on grapes, who can complain?

There’s nothing better than understanding how the body works and reading a good book about grape therapy while having some sweet grapes next to you.

The Detox Mono Diet, by Christopher Vasey N.D. (2006)

Written around the grape diet and with the old school grape therapy in mind, this book is an introduction to the marvelous effects of fasting and sticking to one type of food only. You got it, it’s about grapes.

If you’ve already been through Johanna Brandt’s grape therapy book before, you’ll find quite a few similarities. This grape diet book won’t necessarily give you a different approach. Instead, it analyzes Johanna Brandt’s book and aims to explain it in a more effective manner.

What I truly liked about it was the part explaining why mono diets are so useful. I don’t like the idea of someone telling me what to eat and when. I need to understand why I need to do it and how it actually helps me. And that’s exactly what the author does.

At the same time, you'll learn how to interpret your body's signals and reactions to the diet.

This book may revolve around grape therapy, but I like how its principles are applied to other similar mono diets, too, from the apple diet to the lemon cure or the maple syrup diet. It's all about detox, which naturally brings in a weight loss effect too.

The Easy Grape Cure, by Nicola Quinn (2020)

You’ll notice many books revolve around Johanna Brandt's masterpiece, and this one makes no exception either. This 12 pages micro grape diet book takes Johanna Brandt's diet and simplifies it for everyone to understand.

Whether you're not good with long reads, you find them boring, or you think it's just too much to take, this grape diet book has made it simple for everyone.

Grapes have always been used with detoxification purposes, there are no doubts about it. But what makes this book special is how the author also explains their role in terms of mobility, pain relief, weight loss without too much effort, insomnia problems, lack of energy, stress, libido issues, you name it.

Don't get me wrong, it doesn't go into scientific details, and there are no jargon terms to confuse you. It's a simple book written for the average individual with no medical or weight loss experience.

I loved how Johanna Brandt’s grape diet was adapted. It’s not just about losing weight, but also about detoxifying the body and sorting out a series of modern problems.

The book is relatively short, more like a brochure. You can go through it in less than an hour, slightly more if you want to do further research regarding grapes, but it’s totally worth it.

Grape Cure, by Basil Shackleton (1972)

This is a revised and updated version of an original grape diet. It features a slightly difficult beginning, so if you’re not familiar with diets, you may find it difficult. Personally, since I’ve tried every single diet under the sun, it felt like a breeze.

Anyway, the book includes a few scientific research results, things you can look up yourself these days, too. But at the same time, there's the depth of how everything is explained, too. It's not something I can describe in words, but it is something you'll need to read in order to experience.

I like the fact that everything is about grape therapy and healthy living. Just because you’re eating grapes only, it doesn’t mean you can hydrate with energy drinks and soda, forget about all that. Instead, the author recommends distilled water only.

From some points of view, this book is very similar to the original grape diet book. However, that book is a bit outdated. Things have changed since then. We’ve discovered new things, we know what makes grapes so nutritious, we know how the body reacts when you eat grapes only, and so on.

Don’t get me wrong, the original is still worth a read, but this alternative comes with a more modern approach.

Grapes and Health, by John M. Pezzuto (2016)

This book is all about trying grape therapy. It offers a deep insight into scientific research that links the regular consumption of grapes to a healthy lifestyle. It may seem a bit boring at first, introducing the reader to the grape biology, but it’s necessary to set the foundation for everything.

While it's definitely easy to understand, there are quite a few words that not everyone's familiar with, no biggie, though.

The benefits of grapes are then put in an agenda so the reader can understand the rationale purpose of such a diet.

I like the structure of this book more than anything else. Each chapter assesses a certain element in terms of health. Interested in the effects of grapes over your health? The blood? Atherosclerosis? There’s a chapter for everything, making it even easier.

To me, it’s mainly about an overall healthy lifestyle. To some people, it might be more specific about what they’re interested in.

Final Thoughts on the Grape Diet

These are probably the best books I've been through in terms of grape therapy, diets, and healthcare.

Whether it's about weight loss, adopting a healthy lifestyle, or simply detoxifying your body every now and then, there's definitely something about grapes, some of the healthiest fruits out there and definitely among the sweetest and tastiest.

How people adopt this diet depends solely on their needs and preferences, and the best part about it is it's flexible and easy to customize to match one's expectations.
